Josh Duhamel 'excited' about Fergie's break

Josh Duhamel is "excited" about spending some time with his wife Fergie when she begins her break from music.

The 'Meet Me Halfway' singer has decided to put plans for a second solo LP - the follow-up to 2006's 'The Dutchess' - on hold and have some time away from the pop world and her band the Black Eyed Peas, and the actor can't wait.

He said: "We do want to take some time together and I'm excited to have more time with her, but we always consider the other person when we're doing something and make sure we're scheduling enough time to be together. That's the only way to make it work."

But the 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' star insists Fergie isn't only just taking a break for him, she also wants some time for herself.

He added to E! Online: "She's not doing it just because of me. She wants a little time. They've been working her like a rented mule for eight years. She wants a little time off."

Josh, 38, plans to spend his free time with his 36-year-old wife working up a serious sweat - in the gym.

He revealed: "Exercise is the one thing we love to do when we're home. She pushes me and I push her and I think it's important."

Speaking about her decision to have a break in 2011 rather than make new music, Fergie said: "I've got a lot on my plate and this year is more about simplifying and really paying attention to the projects that I have and spending some time with the hubby, you know?"
