'Coronation Street's Brooke Vincent says filming Sally Webster's cancer scenes was extremely difficult.
Sally Dynevor who plays Brooke's onscreen mum was diagnosed with breast cancer in real life, shortly after her alter-ego was given the same diagnosis in Weatherfield and Brooke - who portrays Sophie Webster in the ITV1 soap - has admitted she found the scenes very emotional.
Brooke told BANG Showbiz: "It was one of the hardest things they've ever asked me to do but Sally's a very strong lady and a very positive lady as well and I think that's what got us through it. We've had some sad times obviously but she's so positive and she came back and she just looks absolutely amazing."
Brooke was impressed with Sally's positive attitude to her illness but says the actress - who married Tim Dynevor in 1995 and has children, daughter Phoebe, 16, Samuel, 15, and Hatty, seven - had great support from her family.
She explained: "Sally kept saying that her kids kept her going and then when she had such a great attitude about it helped us to be more hopeful. She had so much positivity around her that she made the best out of a bad situation. She's a very strong lady."
