Man ready for world's end

An American man has spent $250,000 on a missile base in case the world ends.

Should the planet be invaded by aliens or is blighted by a 21st-century apocalypse, Larry Hall will be prepared after shelling out on the decommissioned Atlas F Missile Base in Kansas.

The structure features sleeping space 200 feet underground with epoxy-hardened concrete walls and a five-year food supply.

Larry, 54, says people find it hard to believe that he has created his own missile base but thinks they should sign up for a place while they can.

He said: "When they call me up they're like, you had me at missile base! With three out of seven floors already spoken for, you'd better get your bid in. You'd hate to be stuck in a moving van when the aliens touch down."
