Cat gives birth to dog

A cat has given birth to a dog in China.

The feline's owner Zhou Yun says when the pet had its litter there appeared to be two kittens but one had died.

Upon closer inspection the surviving kitten actually turned out to be puppy - thought to be a possible result of the cat mating with the animal-lover's dog.

Zhou said: "I noticed the other kitten surprisingly looks like a dog. Quite possibly the kitty is a mixed child."

However, Lai Xiaoyun, president of a local pet clinic, argues that it is impossible for a cat to give birth to a dog.

She reasoned: "The cat went out and accidentally found a litter of newborn puppies and took one home."
