Miami Heat take 2-0 Seires Lead by Beating Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers lost to the Miami Heat last night to go down in the series 0-2 and move closer to the offseason. The game was over almost after the opening tip. In the first half the 76ers starting five were outscored by every member of the Heat's Big Three, LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade.

Though the 76ers got some scoring from Thaddeus Young and Evan Tuner (18 and 15 points respectively) their first five were overpowered and outscored 76-29 by Miami's big free agent additions. The final score of the game was 94-73 with Miami finishing in control of the game.

It's rare for an NBA team to come back after losing the first two games of a series. It has only happened 14 times in a best of seven series. The 76ers have never won a game after getting behind 0-2 in a series. Coach Doug Collins admitted that at the end of the day the Heat are a better team than his and their play on both ends of the court proved it.

The Heat locked down on defense and forced the 76ers to shoot only 26 percent from the field in the first half of the game. It was disappointing for a team that led the Heat by 16 and 14 points in their last two meetings. Collins was so frustrated with his teams performance that he received a technical foul with under two minute to play.

In the second half the 76ers managed to bring the game within eight points but the Heat went off on a 21-11 run and kept them out of arm's reach for the rest of the game. Dwyane Wade showed few side effects from the migraine he suffered on Sunday.
