Tostitos Fiesta Bowl Schedule: #3 Texas Longhorns Battle #10 Ohio State Buckeyes

#3 Texas Longhorns will face #10 Ohio State Buckeyes in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Arizona on Monday night at 8pm on Fox.

The Longhorns enter the game with a chip on their shoulder after the controversial selection of Oklahoma as the Big 12 North champion. The Sooners defeated Missouri in the Big 12 Championship and earned a bid to the BCS National Championship Game against the Florida Gators despite Texas beating them earlier this season.

The Longhorns and Sooners were both 7-1 in Big 12 conference play, but due to the Big 12 rules, the team with the highest BCS ranking wins the conference title in case of a tie.

To add insult to injury, Sooners quarterback Sam Bradford was awarded the Heisman Trophy over Texas quarterback Colt McCoy, whom many considered to be the frontrunner.

Despite Texas' tough season, Ohio State has more to prove after losing in two consecutive BCS National Championship games. The Buckeyes must win this game to prove that they are among college football's elite.

While McCoy is the undoubted leader on offense, defensive end Brian Orakpo is the leader on defense. Orakpo, the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and Lombardi Award winner, is sixth in the nation in sacks (10.5) and 11th in tackles for loss (16.5). Texas' defense is second in the nation in rushing defense and first in sacks.

The Buckeyes offense is led by freshman sensation Terrelle Pryor and junior running back Chris "Beanie" Wells. Pryor will be facing one of his toughest defenses this season, but his mobility will be key for the Buckeyes.

On defense, Ohio State is led by two senior All-Americans: linebacker James Laurinaitis and cornerback Malcolm Jenkins. Laurinaitis and Jenkins will leave Columbus as arguably the two most decorated players at their position in the school's storied football history.
