“There’s a clear connection to recruiting that’s simple to see,” explains Kris Dunn, chief human resources officer and partner with Kinetix, in the article. “When hiring, do you rely only on what you see and hear (the glove [in the O.J. trial]), or do you demand greater scientific evidence that a candidate is a fit for the role in question (like DNA).”
The Kinetix Talent DNA System, powered by BestWork DATA, goes beyond the limitations of Myers-Briggs and other personality tests to consider candidates’ “talent DNA”—including data about the candidate that can be used during the hiring process, and importantly, after the candidate becomes an employee.
The article explains that through a short assessment, the system maps the candidate’s capabilities—from cognitive skills to inclination toward organization to team attitude and more—to present an overall picture of how the candidate would fit into certain roles and organizations. The Kinetix Talent DNA System even includes a “faking good” measurement, which indicates a level of honesty in a candidate as well as the “openness to discuss weaknesses.”
Dunn admits that while the majority of candidates don’t have the public track record in question like O.J., the importance of evaluating a potential employee’s talent DNA is nevertheless vital in making an informed, qualified hiring decision.
