Former American Idol Judge Kara DioGuardi wrote a book about her experiences in the music business and her life on American Idol. The book entitled ‘A Helluva High Note’ will be released next week. The novel includes some juicy bits about the sleazy men she encountered in the music business and sexual harassment in the workplace. Women in all arenas if the workforce encounters harassment as a sexual harassment attorney will tell you. Kara also has a new show debuting on Bravo at the end of May.
Kara tells a story of a producer that is ‘fairly well known’ who date raped her after a dinner. The book also chronicles the story of a song writing session with a hugely successful artist. Kara says the three day songwriting venture included watching Russian porn and strippers having sex in the living space of the house they were staying at. She ignored the conduct until the artist began groping her in the basement. Kara like many women put up with work related sexual harassment, over 60 percent of women who encounter it at work don’t report it.
For some reason many women put up with harassment but retaining a sexual harassment lawyer will help them speak up for themselves. The hostility and pain created by sexual harassment can detrimental effects both to the victim and the workplace. Women who hire a sexual harassment attorney will have an advocate who speaks for them.
