Marsha Hansen to Release Third Book

Sister-in Law To Rolling Stone Keith Richards Pens New Book: God is Real: Experience His Presence

Marsha Hansen’s new  book, God is Real: Experience His Presence, is scheduled for release on January 23. It is likely to be  controversial , because Hansen boldly  claims that God’s existence is provable. She says that the supernatural is much more accessible than most  people believe.  Hansen wrote the book because she believes that actual knowledge of God, not religion, is the key to ridding the world of toxic sectarianism. Unlike atheist authors Richard Dawkins or Christopher Hitchens, Hansen is hardly anti-religious. A devout Christian, she claims that atheists are factually wrong, but agrees with Dawkins on one point at least. She says  that the question of God’s existence is as much a scientific question as it is a religious one.

Hansen’s book offers  cogent explanations of faith, spirituality, and the power of belief in ways that challenge the rhetoric of contemporary atheists.  The book is a surprising and intriguing blend of mysticism and reason. In fact, the source for some of her most luminous passages is as interesting  and controversial as the content itself. Is Hansen a modern mystic, or is she writing about phenomena that are accessible to everyone?

Writing with elegance and simplicity, Hansen argues persuasively for the reality of God.  She says she is ready to take up the challenge of Dawkins’ reviewer Steven Pinker to counter the arguments set out in The God Delusion.   In fact, she says her arguments in God is Real are not merely rhetorical or philosophical. They are see-for-yourself arguments.

God is Real: Experience His Presence (ISBN: 9780982265505) is published by Hansen-McMenamy Books and distributed through Ingram Books.

Marsha Hansen is author of My Soul Is A Witness: The Message of the Spirituals in Word and Song, a 2006 release from Augsburg-Fortress.  The book contains a CD of African-American spirituals with Keith Richards, George Receli, Blondie Chaplin , Babi Floyd and others accompanying Hansen’s vocals.
