Attorney for Casey Anthony Battles Sheriff’s Office Over Pictures of Caylee Anthony Autopsy and Scene Where Body was Discovered

Jose Baez, the attorney representing accused murderer Casey Anthony, is fighting to limit the restrictions the sheriff’s office is trying to place on photos of Caylee Anthony’s autopsy as well as pictures of the Orlando area in which the three-year-old’s remains were found.

Baez has said the limits that the sheriff’s office has requested would place an unjustified burden on him and his ability to effectively defend Casey Anthony during trial.

Prosecutors want to ensure that Baez is not able to make copies of the photos or distribute them through the mail or Internet.

The body of Caylee Anthony was discovered last month in a heavily wooded area less than half a mile from where she lived. She disappeared in June but Casey Anthony did not report her missing for more than a month and then told investigators she had dropped Caylee off with a babysitter and when she returned both were missing.

Investigators quickly focused on the 22-year-old Casey Anthony and have gathered evidence, including DNA, which appears to tie her to the case.
