Four armed men on motorcycles sprinkled petrol on a bus loaded with passengers and set the vehicle on fire late Monday night in southwest Pakistan. The incident happened outside a roadside hotel in the city of Sibi, which is located in Balochistan province.
The bus, which was reportedly carrying around 40 passengers, was en route to Peschawar from Quetta. Sibi deputy commissioner Naseer Ahmed Nasir said the assailants shot at the bus before torching it. The motive for the attack remains unclear.
Meanwhile, police say 3 people died and more than 30 others were wounded Tuesday in two separate explosions in Karachi. Both bombs, which were detonated by remote control devices, targeted buses carrying Pakistani Navy officials.
