NFL Playoffs Schedule Saturday Jan. 10: Baltimore Ravens Travel to Face Tennessee Titans in AFC Divisional Showdown

The NFL playoffs enter the divisional stage on Saturday and in the AFC the showdown will be a rematch of a Week 5 game in which the Tennessee Titans (13-3) edged the Baltimore Ravens (11-5) 13-10.

Unlike the first game the Ravens will be on the road this time where the Titans posted a 7-1 record at home. Tennessee earned the number one seed after compiling the AFC’s best record in the regular season and that earned them a first-round bye while Baltimore traveled to Miami and knocked off the Dolphins last week.

Baltimore has relied on a shut-down defense that keyed their push past the Dolphins last week and they will be called upon again on Saturday to shut down the running attack of the Titans. Tennessee had the NFL’s number seven rushing offense during the regular season averaging 137.4 yards per game as Chris Johnson and LenDale White have been major players for the Titans offense.

Both White and Johnson were shut down in their first game against the Ravens, gaining a combined 48 yards on 21 carries. Baltimore’s run defense has been dominant all year, allowing just 81.4 yards per game, and that should force Kerry Collins to open up the passing game.

That may not be good news for Tennessee as that puts Ravens safety Ed Reed in the mix and no player in the NFL has been hotter as he collected eight interceptions in Baltimore’s last six games of the regular season and added another two picks last week.

While much has been made about the Ravens defense the Titans have put together the NFL’s seventh ranked overall defense and have allowed just 14.6 points per game. They’ll be looking to shutdown the Ravens run game that ranked fourth in the NFL with 148.5 yards per game. If they can shut down Willis McGahee and Le’Ron McClain they will force rookie quarterback Joe Flacco to throw, not exactly what the Ravens want as they have the 28th ranked passing offense in the NFL.

Kickoff for the Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens game is set for 4;30 p.m. ET.
