South Shore Teacher Christina A McCallum Charged with Rape of Teen

A South Shore teacher has been accused of raping a teen boy multiple times over a three year period. Christine A. McCallum faces three charges of statutory rape, as well as furnishing alcohol to a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The boy was 13 when his relationship with the married elementary school teacher began. The victim, now 16, says he and McCallum has sex a total of 300 times, “possibly every other day.”

“The defendant is obsessed with this young child,” said Assistant District Attorney Michael Scott.

The 29-year-old also wrote letters to the boy, professing her love and admitting her jealousy over his female classmates. McCallum also supplied the boy with a cell phone so they could talk regularly. The relationship ended sometime in late 2007 after the teen began a relationship with a girl his own age.

The teen’s father found out about the relationship on January 6 and contacted authorities. There is no evidence of other victims.

McCallum is being held on $10,000 bond. She pleaded not guilty to the charges.
