Two Miami Heat Players Questionable for Series Against Celtics

Mike Miller and Udonis Haslem Hampered by Injuries

On Friday, Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra reportedly hinted that he is not counting on Mike Miller or Udonis Haslem being able to play during the Heat's second-round Playoff series against the Boston Celtics.

Miller did not play in the team's last three games because of a thumb injury, while Haslem has been suffering from a very slow-healing foot injury that has sidelined him for months now.

Spoelstra said that he's in "evaluation" mode about Miller's readiness to play, but Miller says he'll be there for his team.

"Coach understands I'll be ready if he calls my number," said Miller. "If not, I'll be the best cheerleader I can be."

Haslem recently increased his workload and appeared close to joining the team on the court again, but Spoelstra is not setting a timeline for Haslem's return yet.

"While we all see the light at the end of the tunnel, the series will not be our timeline [on Haslem]," said Spoelstra. "It may not happen in the next week or the next two weeks."

And with the Heat having won 19 of their last 23 games, Haslem is wary of potentially changing a game-winning team lineup and chemistry.

"As much as I'd love to be out there, I understand this is a very important series for us," said Haslem. "We've got a pretty good chemistry right now and I don't want to disrupt that. I don't want to force anything right now. With that being said, it is not as easy as a decision as people would think it would be and I understand that."
