Idol Eliminee Casey Abrams Says He Was "Never Dating" Haley
Former American Idol Contestant Sets Record Straight
Former American Idol finalist Casey Abrams, who was eliminated from the show on Thursday, has set the record straight about the nature of his relationship with Idol contestant Haley Reinhart.
Viewers of the show have long speculated that the two might be more than just friends. Some would even go as far as saying that their chemistry was obvious.
During his elimination song on Thursday, Abrams was giving handshakes and kisses to various people. And he saved his time with Haley for last. But Abrams insists that it was unplanned and innocent.
"We were never dating," Abrams told E! Online. "I was completely on random mode. I didn't plan on ending up on Haley. It just happened that way. I was saying goodbye to my very special musical friend—that's all it was."
But at the same time, Abrams admits that he did have a special connection with Haley.
"I was scared of looking stupid on stage because I didn't know a certain song," said Abrams. "I think I had more fun with Haley because I fed off of her energy."
