Chuck Lorre Compares Charlie Sheen to a Monkey?
'Two and a Half Men' Creator Makes Monkey Joke
'Two and a Half Men' creator Chuck Lorre recently made a joke about a monkey, and some suspect that the joke was meant to be a jab at fired 'Men' star Charlie Sheen.
After Thursday night's airing of "The Big Bang Theory," which Lorre co-created and produces, a joke disclaimer was shown on the screen that described the imaginary troubles of a monkey that was featured on the show.
The disclaimer read, "Dear Concerned Viewers, Thanks to the magic of computer graphics, the monkey in tonight's episode was not actually smoking a cigarette, nor was he ever exposed to secondhand smoke. At all times, every effort was made to make the monkey feel happy and safe. Nevertheless, he proved impossible to work with. During the week of production, his behavior became increasingly erratic, to the point of refusing to come out of his trailer to rehearse. It wasn't until after we finished filming that we learned why. The monkey is a heroin addict. Yes, hard as it may be to believe, the monkey had a monkey on his back."
But was this silly monkey joke really supposed to be about Sheen? Considering all the hostility that has been reported between Lorre and Sheen, it does not seem like a far-fetched possibility.
