NFL Playoffs Scores: Arizona Cardinals Shock Carolina Panthers to Advance to NFC Championship Game

Kurt Warner was 21/32 passing for 220 yards and a touchdown, Larry Fitzgerald had 166 yards receiving and a TD on eight receptions and the Arizona Cardinals defense limited the Carolina Panthers rushing attack to just 75 yards in a 33-13 victory on Saturday to advance to the NFC Championship where they will face the winner of the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles game.

The Panthers started quick as they grabbed a 7-0 lead after Jonathan Stewart scored on a 9-yard touchdown run but the Cardinals countered with a Warner to Tim Hightower 3-yard TD pass and then Arizona took the lead when Edgerrin James scored on a 4-yard run to make the score 14-7.

Arizona boosted their lead to 20-7 in the second quarter after a pair of Neil Rackers field goals and after a Carolina turnover Warner found Fitzgerald on a 29-yard touchdown pass to carry a 27-7 advantage into the half.

Rackers pushed the lead to 30-7 in the third quarter on a 33-yard field goal and his 20-yard field goal in the final frame increased their advantage to 33-7.

Carolina managed to get a late touchdown when Jake Delhomme found Steve Smith on an 8-yard toss but by that point the game was already decided.

Arizona dominated every aspect of the game, holding a 39:49-20:11 advantage in time of possession, forced six turnovers (five interceptions) and a 360-269 advantage in total offense.
