Fast Five tops the box office this weekend

By: Daun Lee

The franchise about street racing set the box offices in fire this past weekend as Fast Five becomes the number one hit. Film franchises don’t usually go beyond three, but the records set by the fifth installment of the Fast and Furious Franchise could change that perception.

The Fast and Furious franchise has brought street racing to the big screens for well over a decade. The Fast Five edition adds a heist to the mix and revives the genre a bit.

Fans of the film and street racing should be reminded that street racing is illegal for good reasons. The exact number of people who are injured or killed by street racing is hard to determine because the police have no way to classify street racing besides noting speed violations, but people who participate in street races hurt themselves along with innocent bystanders. The Fast and Furious franchise has made street racing a little more popular, but the phenomena has existed for a long time.

For the person injured in a street racing incident or any other type of collision, they may require the help of an accident attorney. Medical costs and replacement of property can be quite expensive and victims of traffic accidents deserve to be compensated for their losses; an accident lawyer will work for their clients to make sure this happens. No amount of money can replace good health, but it can offer some comfort for the injured.
