Cruising Eastern Lycia: May 21 - 28 May - Reduced from ¢1,145/$2,125 to ¢845/$1,495 per person.

This 1-week cruise explores the virtually untouched coast of ancient Lycia. Behind the soaring Taurus mountains an extraordinary and fiercely independent people developed. Their funerary architecture, unlike anything else in the world, still litters their once prosperous ports. Their location, history, and state of preservation make for some of the most fascinating sites of antiquity. This trip is a wonderful introduction to Turkey's antiquities, and an ideal way to relax, enjoy splendid food and swim in turquoise waters.

Cruising Western Lycia May 28 – 4 June – reduced from ¢1,145/$2,125 to ¢845/$1,495 per person.

Like Cruising Eastern Lycia, this tour explores a quite beautiful stretch of coastline on Turkey's southern shore. Once a day we visit one of the antique cities that adorn this timeless coast. We stroll along ancient roads lined with wild herbs, or through olive trees strewn with rock tombs. We have the chance to snorkel over sunken harbours, and climb rocky fastnesses for unrivalled vistas. From mighty theatres to churches floored with mosaics, each site is an archaeological adventure, part of a historical puzzle that reveals a remarkable story of human civilisation.

Cruising the Carian Coast June 4 - 17 - Reduced from ¢1,845/$3,399 to ¢1,695 /$2,995 pp.

An archaeological cruise that interweaves the magic of Turkey with two awe-inspiring Greek islands - Rhodes and Simi. We visit some of the greatest gems on Turkey's southwest coast: Caunos with its exquisite rock-cut temple tombs, and beautifully preserved Knidos, a monumental marbled city arranged around a double harbour.

In 1994, Peter Sommer walked 2,000 miles across Turkey, retracing the route of Alexander the Great, and in the process fell in love with the country, its people, and its ancient civilizations. A British archaeologist, film-maker, and highly experienced tour guide, Peter created Peter Sommer Travels in 1996, offering unique escorted tours and cruises in Turkey. A UK-based specialist travel operator, we provide a select number of holidays and vacations with a professional and above all personal touch. All our archaeology tours are personally led by Peter.

Small groups: We take only small groups (maximum 16 ) of like-minded people, travelling in an easy-going, friendly, and informal style. Our expertise stems from an especially intimate knowledge of Turkey – its geography, history, people, and much more.

Over the past ten years we have created a rich and varied collection of escorted cultural tours - archaeology tours and cruises with a difference.
