Academic enrichment camps are filling a void in the educational system that schools don't have the budgets or expertise to provide students, states a senior executive with one of the country's leading learning and life skills academic summer programs.
Mark Reardon, COO of Quantum Learning Network, which operates SuperCamp academic summer camps throughout the U.S. says that certain academic camps, like SuperCamp, provide students with skills they are not getting in school. "In 10 days at SuperCamp, middle school and high school students acquire accelerated learning skills and invaluable life skills in such areas as communication, time management and goal setting that help them at school and in their personal lives," explains Mr. Reardon.
To support this statement, Mr. Reardon cites extensive research that has been conducted with SuperCamp graduates showing an increase in grades, confidence and motivation among the great majority of them following their attendance at SuperCamp.
SuperCamp's summer enrichment programs are age- and grade-specific, offering a camp for students entering grades 6-8 and another one for those entering grades 9-12. The company also has a college-level 8-day program called Quantum U for students entering and already in college.
