John Cleese, 71, has a very pricey divorce to pay for, so the comic is launching a UK tour to raise funds. The divorce from his third wife is costing him millions. Cleese’s Alimony Tour throughout the UK hasn’t gotten great reviews for the comic because it seems obvious to the audience he is doing it just for money. One reviewer remarked that he didn’t memorize the material, instead is reading the script off teleprompters.
The alimony awarded to his third wife, American psychotherapist Alyce Faye Eichelberger cost Cleese close to 12 million pounds and a 600,000 pound yearly payment for seven years. His divorce was finalized in 2008. Cleese’s current girlfriend, Jennifer Wade, 40, is helping him pay off his alimony by posing as a nude model for sculptor Jonathan Wylder.
