Florida wide receiver/running back Percy Harvin will forgo his senior season and enter the 2009 NFL Draft, according to reports on Thursday.
Harvin, one of the nation's greatest all-purpose threats, is expected to be a first-round pick and is considered a top five wide receiver in the draft, according to several mock drafts.
In his successful career at UF, Harvin was named the SEC Freshman of the Year and the SEC Championship MVP his freshman year. He won two BCS National Championships with the Gators as he rushed for 1,852 yards and had 1,929 receiving yards in his three-year career. Harvin also scored at least one touchdown in each of his last 15 games and was named All-SEC Second Team the last two years.
Harvin is expected to be the third receiver taken in the draft behind Texas Tech's Michael Crabtree and Missouri's Jeremy Maclin.
Teammate Brandon Spikes announced that he will return to UF for his senior season after being named All-SEC First Team for the second consecutive year. He was expected to be a top-three inside linebacker in this year's draft along with USC's Rey Maualuga and Ohio State's James Laurinaitis.
