Texas man shoots wife and family after she files for divorce

A Texas man was accused of shooting his wife and her parents Sunday night and engaging police in a car chase.

The woman, who was in her late 20’s, went to stay with her parents after filing for divorce. Her husband arrived at the family home with a loaded shotgun and shot his wife and her parents, all three died on the scene.

The shooter than took off and led the police on a 10 minute car chase reaching speeds of up to 100 miles per hour, according to the Williamson County Sheriffs Office. The man hit an empty patrol car trying to avoid road spikes and died on impact. When the police searched his car, they found evidence of the shooting.

The house was occupied by three other people who survived the shooting. The victim’s child along with her brother and the brother’s friend were in the house and called 911.

The police aren’t releasing the names of the victims or the shooter at this time.
