Peggy Tanous is a newcomer to this season of Real Housewives of Orange County, and her struggle to save her home from foreclosure will be chronicled on the show.
Tanous filed a suit to have her loan modified. She has been having financial difficulties but the loan holders are reluctant to modify her loan. Tannous defaulted on her loan for her million dollar home, which she says is modest for Orange County.
On the show, Tanous’ financial troubles aren’t apparent. The ‘Real Housewife’ drives a Bentley. And recently had some plastic surgery after which she received a pair of diamond earrings. She also hosted party on the program catered by a celebrity chef with wine pairings. It may be difficult for Tanous to prove financial difficulties with all her extravagant spending.
Other ‘wives’ on the West Coast have had problems with real estate, one wife was able to avoid foreclosure by modification, another had a short-sale and one is trying to sell her home the old-fashioned way.
The millions of people all over the country that are facing foreclosure may find a little comfort in the knowledge that even the rich and famous aren’t immune to the prospect of losing their homes, and must retain a foreclosure lawyer. The homeowner who wishes to stay in their house can hire a foreclosure attorney to challenge the bank’s decision. When a modification is refused by the mortgage lenders, a foreclosure lawyer has the necessary qualifications to get favorable judgments for their clients.
