The pop diva that owned the eighties, Whitney Houston, has been struggling with drug and alcohol issues for many years. Her different abuses and intoxicated antics have been well-documented in celebrity gossip magazines and websites. The soul singer has entered into an outpatient rehabilitation program for alcohol and drug use, according to her publicist Kristen Foster.

There has been no mention of which facility is helping her overcome her addictions or what substances Whitney is seeking treatment for.

Drug and alcohol issues have plagued Houston and her family. Both her husband, Bobbi Brown, and her daughter have had ongoing drug and alcohol related problems. Many of the tabloids feature stories detailing their drug problems.

When Houston released her 2009 album, the singer claimed she was clean, but the subsequent concert tour proved to be disastrous. Fans complained about the quality of her voice and the singer canceled her UK gigs because of illness.

Drug and alcohol abuse are common problems that numerous people face. Oftentimes individuals with addiction issues only seek counseling when forced to either by their loved ones or by court order. Unfortunate circumstances, like a DUI, are one of the reasons people enter into treatment programs.

A DUI is a common charge for people who abuse drugs or alcohol. Most courts require treatment as a condition of their DUI sentencing. Hiring a DUI lawyer is crucial for a person who gets an intoxicated driving charge. The extensive skill s of a DUI attorney give them the necessary knowledge of how to deal with the courts and minimize the impact a DUI has on your future.
