Casey Anthony Case: Utility Worker Who Found Caylee Anthony’s Remains Receives $5,000 Reward

Roy Kronk, the Orlando County utility worker who discovered the remains of two-year-old Caylee Anthony last month, has received a $5,000 reward from a lawyer who had represented the grandparents of the toddler.

Kronk received the check from Mark NeJame after the attorney said he felt it was the right thing to do. NeJame had reportedly received the $5,000 while representing George and Cindy Anthony and believed that Kronk’s efforts in finding Caylee Anthony merited the reward.

The mother of Caylee Anthony, Casey Anthony, remains behind bars and is awaiting trial on first-degree murder charges in her daughter’s death. Casey Anthony has denied any involvement in Caylee’s disappearance and death, telling authorities that she had dropped her off with a babysitter and when she returned both were gone.

Caylee’s disappearance sparked numerous searches and grabbed headlines across the country until Kronk discovered her remains in a plastic bag less than a half mile from the home she lived in with her mother and grandparents.

Kronk had alerted police about a plastic bag in a wooded area several times back in August, about two months after Caylee disappeared. Police failed to act on the calls and it wasn’t until last week that Kronk acted on his suspicions and uncovered the bag that contained a small skull and several bones.

A statement was released by Kronk’s attorney that acknowledged he had received the reward, “Roy is very thankful that Mark NeJame has recognized his singular efforts in finding Caylee and hopes that this sends a message to others that kindness does exist for people who do the right thing in life."
