An unidentified Spanish court official says an autopsy on a United States exchange student who was found dead in Madrid in March shows the 22-year-old died of accidental drowning. The autopsy also showed Austin Taylor Bice had a “high level” of alcohol in his system at the time of his death.
"There was nothing found in the body that would indicate external factors in the death. There were no wounds on the body," said a Superior Justice Tribunal official.
Bice disappeared February 26 after going out with a group of friends. His body was discovered in the Manzanares River on March 8. Bice was a student at San Diego State University. He was in Madrid to participate in an exchange program at the University of Carlos III.
