Roger
Federer didn’t look perfect but the Swiss star managed to secure a first round
win at the Australian Open, dropping Andreas Seppi 6-1, 7-6 (7-4), 7-5 to
advance into the second round of the Grand Slam event
Federer
finished with nine aces and he held his service game as Seppi was 0-10 on
break-point opportunities on the day.
With
his title at the U.S. Open in 2008 Federer now has 13 Grand Slam singles
titles, one shy of the record 14 Grand Slam singles titles held by Pete
Sampras. Federer has won the Australian Open three times (most recently in
2007), Wimbledon five times and the U.S. Open five times.
