Australian Open 2009 First Round Results: Andy Roddick Breezes Past Bjorn Rehnquist to Reach Second Round

Andy Roddick had little trouble moving into the second round at the Australian Open as he blasted Bjorn Rehnquist in straight sets 6-0, 6-2, 6-2.

Roddick hammered Rehnquist with nine aces while committing just ten unforced errors and breaking Rehnquist’s serve on seven of ten opportunities.

Roddick has one Grand Slam singles title to his credit, a 2003 win at the U.S. Open. He has reached the semi-finals at the Australian Open on three occasions but fell in each of those matches. The American has also appeared in a pair of Wimbledon finals but lost to Roger Federer both times.
