Baltimore
Ravens running back Willis McGahee is back home today after sustaining an injury
to his neck in Sunday night’s AFC Championship game against the Pittsburgh
Steelers.
McGahee
was hit by Steelers safety Ryan Clark late in the fourth quarter and both
players fell to the ground. Clark eventually made it to his feet while McGahee remained
on the ground until he could be placed on a stretcher and carted off the field.
The
hit sustained by McGahee left many concerned that he had suffered serious neck
injury but he was seen moving is arms and legs. He was taken to UPMC
Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh and was observed overnight before being
released on Monday.
Doctors
confirmed that McGahee was “neurologically intact” but was experiencing pain in
his neck.
