Barack Obama to be Sworn in as 44TH President of the United States, Inauguration to Begin at Noon

President-elect Barack Obama will become the 44^th President of the United States on Tuesday when the Democrat is sworn in during an inauguration ceremony that begins at noon.

Millions of people have crowded into Washington, D.C. to witness the first African American to be sworn in as the Commander in Chief, braving temperatures that have dropped into the 20s. Those crowds have been packing into the National Mall to catch a glimpse of the historical moment while security at the scene has placed at more than 40,000 personnel.

Obama will be sworn in with his hand on the same Bible used at the inauguration of Abraham Lincoln. The swearing in will take place on the steps of the U.S. Capitol and be broadcast on screens throughout the crowd.
