Divorcees turn to plastic surgery for confidence boost

There is a growing trend among women who have recently been divorced to seek out plastic surgeons to boost their confidence, according to ABC news. Other women are undergoing the knife to take revenge on their exes.

The number of women who are getting cosmetic surgery procedures after a divorce is estimated to be about a fourth of clients who visit a plastic surgeon, according to a study conducted by the Transform Cosmetic Group in Great Britain. Some of these women are simply trying to improve their appearance as the re-enter the dating scene.

Dr. John Turk, a New York plastic surgeon, stated to ABC news that some of his patients want to get surgery before they lose the credit cards they shared with their former spouse. He warns women to think carefully before they take drastic measures after their divorce.

One woman featured said her surgery wasn’t for revenge but other women admit they have sought out cosmetic surgery to make their ex-husbands jealous.

The divorcee can gain more confidence from liposuction if they feel they need it, especially if they have had children and want to eliminate fat from the areas of discontent. Liposuction gives a person the opportunity to target a specific area of their body like the stomach or thighs were many women retain fat. With liposuction, the divorced woman can feel more confident to go out and enjoy their life as a single person.
