Novak
Djokovic continued his push for back-to-back Australian Open titles with a
straight set victory over Jeremy Chardy 7-5, 6-3, 6-1 to advance in Melbourne.
Djokovic
controlled the match with an efficient serve, hammering out seven aces while
putting 71 percent of his first serves in play and winning 75 percent of those
offerings. The Serb limited his unforced errors to 17 while jumping on 32
unforced errors committed by Chardy.
Djokovic
is the defending Australian Open champion, his only Grand Slam title. Last year
he knocked off Jo-Wilfried Tsonga for the title.
