Ana Ivanovic continued her push to return to the Australian Open finals as she took care of Italian Alberta Brianti in straight sets 6-3, 6-2 to advance to the third round in Melbourne.

Ivanovic faced little adversity as the Serb dealt five aces and collected 26 winners wile converting on 5 of 11 break-point opportunities. Brianti struggled against Ivanovic as she committed 6 double-faults and produced just 12 winners.
