Miami Heat Recover to Win Game 2 at the Chicago Bulls and Even the Series at 1-1
The Miami Heat got the game they needed from LeBron James and Dwyane Wade to even the Eastern finals 1-1. After less than stellar performances from the Big Three in game one James stepped up his play and finished with 29 points. Wade had 24 as the Heat beat the Bulls 85-75 and stole home court advantage.
The game was close until the final minutes. With 4:27 left in the fourth quarter James hit a 3-pointer that put the Heat up 76-73. He would score six more to close out the game and the Heat would never trail again. The Heat took care of business on the boards too, out rebounding Chicago 45-41, an advantage the Bulls rarely give away.
Miami took another page out of the Chicago Bulls book in their defense. They held MVP Derrick Rose to 21 points and only allowed one other player to reach double digits (Luol Deng with 13). Emotional leader Joakim Noah had nine points on the night and was held to eight rebounds. Carlos Boozer, who seemed to find his game in the second round, was invisible scoring seven points and eight rebounds. He sat out for more than the entire fourth quarter.
Udonis Haslem was a surprising presence for the Heat in the game sparking several runs with key plays. Coach Erik Spoelstra said, "I talked to him two days ago, and there was this look in his eye...I've been through a lot of battles with that warrior, and I knew it was time to put him in"
Game 3 will be played on Sunday in Miami.
