Australian Open 2009 Round Two Results: Rafael Nadal Marches Past Roko Karanusic with Straight Set Win

Rafael Nadal wasted little time in advancing into the third round at the Australian Open, knocking off Roko Karanusic in straight sets 6-2, 6-3, 6-2.

Nadal took advantage of just about every opportunity that was offered as he broke Karanusic’s serve on 6 of 7 opportunities while stopping Karanusic from breaking his serve six times.

Nadal has won five Grand Slam singles titles including four at the French Open and his first Wimbledon title last year. Three of his French Open titles and his Wimbledon crown came at the expense of Roger Federer. Nadal’s best finish at the Australian Open was a semi-final appearance last year.
