Jelena
Dokic has kept her amazing return to Grand Slam action alive after bouncing
back from a set down to beat Caroline Wozniacki 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 in the third
round of the Australian Open.
Dokic
appeared to settle in after the first set and has apparently regained some confidence
in her game as she battled past Wozniacki on Friday. While Wozniacki had more
aces and fewer double faults and unforced errors Dokic held the advantage in
breaks, converting on five of her 13 opportunities.
Dokic
had been ranked as high as #4 in the world in 2004 but she slowly withdrew from
tennis as problems with her family and a battle with depression left many
wondering if she would ever return. Dokic’s best finish at a Grand Slam was a
semi finals appearance at Wimbledon in 2000.
