The International Academy of Design & Technology (IADT), Orlando, has
teamed up with NFL Superstar Ike Taylor to discover the next hot designer. Mr.
Taylor has run a contest for both the graphic and fashion design students to
create original designs and concepts for his notable fashion line, Swaggin
University. Appealing to a youthful, college demographic, Mr. Taylor, currently
residing in Orlando decided whom better than design students to bring exactly
that to his line. The contest began on April 15th with Sharon Smith of the
fashion design department and Colin Breaud of the graphic design department
collecting all entries to be submitted by May 9th for consideration.
Ike Taylor, (Ike T, Swagger U) is known throughout the National Football League
as the player with the "Swagg". Inventing the word ‘Swagg’ in his
college days, Mr. Taylor’s definition of the word is having confidence,
understanding your strengths, knowing who you are and simply having unique
style. Mr. Taylor’s success on and off the field has been tremendous with his
two World Championships, his youth football camp and his dedication to making
the world a better place for children through his charity work.
The finalists will be selected on Monday, May 23, 2011 at the International
Academy of Design in Orlando, FL at 3:00PM. Mr. Taylor and his publicist CJ
Robinson of Tsunami Group Inc
will be in attendance to view the finalists and hand select the winner. The
IADT student chosen will encompass the brand with their designs and be offered
an internship with the company, which will lead to further opportunities with
Swaggin University.
IADT schools offer Associates & Bachelor degrees programs around the
country for students interested in creative design careers. The school prepares
participants to enter into the creative marketplaces with degrees in design and
technology.
