Australian Open 2009 Third Round Results: Dinara Safina Breezes into Fourth Round with Straight Set Win Over Kaia Kanepi

Dinara Safina needed just over an hour to advance to the fourth round of the Australian Open as she pounded Kaia Kanepi in straight sets 6-2, 6-2.

Safina took advantage of an awful service game from Kanepi who put just 40 percent of her first serves into play. Kanepi committed 30 unforced errors and had her serve broke on four of six occasions.

Safin a has yet to win a Grand Slam singles title but reached the finals at the French Open last year before falling to Ana Ivanovic. She reached the semi-finals of the U.S. Open last year as well.
