Former Pastor of second largest US church charged with DUI

By: Daun Lee

Randy White, 56, was arrested in Tampa, Florida Sunday night for DUI. White is a former Pastor and founder of the Without Walls International Church.

White was arrested and booked on DUI charges after a breathalyzer revealed his blood-alcohol content was .09; in Florida the legal limit is .08, like many other states. He was released early Sunday morning after he posted a $500 bail.

Randy White along with his ex-wife Paula White has been the subject of scandal before. The church who preaches prosperity has undergone an investigation by the Feds into their handling of the donations. Paula and Randy White lived an extravagant lifestyle based on the donations the church received, and used their fortune to preach the prosperity gospel to church members. Although they weren’t found guilty of any mishandling of church donations, changes to the tax exempt status of churches have come in the wake of the Without Walls investigation.

Randy stepped down as the church’s leader in 2007, citing health reasons.

In any case of DUI, it is crucial that the accused hire a DUI attorney to help them through their legal battle. A DUI can result in the loss of a driver’s license, incarceration and heavy fines. The representation of a DUI lawyer can help reduce the penalties a person faces.  With an experienced DUI attorney it is possible to have the charges reduced.
