Rafael Nadal had no trouble moving into the fourth round at the Australian Open as the Spaniard dispatched Tommy Haas in straight sets 6-4, 6-2, 6-2 to inch closer to his first Grand Slam title in Melbourne.
Nadal committed just 8 unforced errors in the match and continued his dominance on serve. Haas did become the first opponent to break Nadal’s serve at the Australian open but the Spaniard bounced right back and took care of business.
Nadal has won five Grand Slam singles titles including four at the French Open and his first Wimbledon title last year. Three of his French Open titles and his Wimbledon crown came at the expense of Roger Federer. Nadal’s best finish at the Australian Open was a semi-final appearance last year.
