NATO Helicopter Crashes in Afghanistan, ISAF Investigating

The International Security Assistance Force has confirmed a NATO helicopter crashed in western Afghanistan Tuesday around 10 a.m. local time. The helicopter went down in Farah province.

An ISAF spokesperson said the crash site was secured and both crew members were “quickly recovered unharmed.” "The reason for the crash is currently unknown. An investigation into the incident has been launched," the spokesperson added.

No other details on the crash were available. This is the second NATO helicopter crash within a month. On April 23, a crash in Kapisa province killed one United States soldier and left one other injured.
