Avalanche in Turkey Kills Ten Climbers on Mount Zigana, Seven Survive

An avalanche on Turkey’s Mount Zigana has killed ten climbers while seven more climbers from the same group managed to survive after being rescued by search teams.

The climbers had been at a height of 7,260 feet and were crossing a deep valley when the avalanche struck, leaving the climbers no chance to take cover.

It is believed the avalanche may have been caused by warm temperatures that dislodged a large block of snow, sending it directly in the path of the climbers.
