Kirstie Alley whittles away the pounds on Dancing with the Stars

By: Daun Lee

Kirstie Alley has faced some tough criticism over her weight. The former star of Fat Actress has been slowly whittling away some of her body fat. She is becoming noticeable thinner but won’t reveal how much actual weight she has lost.

Alley continues to dazzle the judges on Dancing with the Stars because she improves her dancing skills in every episode. All the dancing is obviously helping her trim down.

Dancing is a great way to drop excess pounds and adds some fun to a workout routine. According to WEebMD a 160 lb. woman can burn up to 350 calories in an hour by doing the twist or swing dancing. Faster paced aerobic dancing can burn up to 590 calories. Even slow dancing burns up 200 calories per hour. Dancing has other benefits besides weight loss.

Dancing can improve coordination and for seniors it can improve memory skills and stave off dementia.

Although many people utilize exercise for weight loss they may find that sometimes it can’t get rid of all the fat a person retains. Areas of the body like the thighs, stomach and arms can make a person unhappy with their bodies, for these individuals they can turn to liposuction if exercise doesn’t yield the results they desire. Liposuction gives a person control over which areas of their body they would like to trim and sculpt. Liposuction is a safe procedure with a minimal recovery time.
