NBA Scores: Boston Celtics Pound Dallas Mavericks for Eighth Straight Win

Rajon Rondo finished with 23 points, 14 assists and 7 rebounds, Kevin Garnett added 23 points in 25 minutes and Eddie House contributed 23 points as the Boson Celtics (37-9) pounded the Dallas Mavericks (25-19) 124-100 on Sunday for their eighth straight win.

Dallas actually had a 12-10 lead after the first six minutes of the opening frame but the Celtics went on a 17-2 run to garb control of the game and Boston led 38-23 after the first quarter with Garnett leading the way with 11 points.

Boston then used a 21-2 run in the second quarter to inflate their lead to 64-33 and it was never close after that. The Celtics led by as many as 35 points in the third quarter before settling for a 103-78 advantage at the end of the frame.

The Celtics shot 53 percent from the field including 59 percent from beyond the three-point line (16-27) and committed just six turnovers. Boston attempted just 12 free-throws in the game compared to 36 for the Mavericks but Dirk Nowitzki was just 4-17 from the floor and finished with 18 points.
