The Windsor Christian Fellowship Church offers faith-based "encounter weekends" for women struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. The program is a popular one in Windsor, Ontario, but many participants have wished for a concrete place to get clean.
"They feel like they've gone through a cleansing...but many come to me after the weekend to say, 'Can I live in the church?'" said senior pastor Cathy Ciaramitaro.
The Windsor Life Centre will become a reality in the spring of next year. The 20-bed residential program will offer treatment in six month and 12 month increments free of charge to any person struggling with drug and alcohol addiction in the community.
