Former Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Mike Brown agreed to become the new head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday.

The Lakers were in need of a coach after the legendary Phil Jackson retired as a coach when the Lakers were eliminated from the playoffs this year.

Brown, who was famously fired last year after he failed to lead LeBron James and the Cavaliers to the NBA Finals yet again, and the Lakers have agreed in principle to a four-year, $18.25 million deal that will see the ring-less Brown replace the 13-time NBA Champion Zen Master.

Lakers execs did not consult Lakers star Kobe Bryant during their search for a new coach, but Bryant is reportedly on board with the hiring of Brown, for whom he has a lot of respect.
