Australian Open 2009 Round Four Results: Rafael Nadal Back into Quarterfinals after Breezing Past Fernando Gonzalez

Rafael Nadal continued his push for his first Australian Open title, knocking off Fernando Gonzalez in straight sets 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 to advance to the quarterfinals.

Nadal dominated the match with efficiency as he hit just 11 unforced errors and won 78 percent of his first serves while collecting 33 winners. The Spaniard also managed to break Gonzalez’s serve on 6 of 13 opportunities while losing his serve just twice,

Nadal has won five Grand Slam singles titles including four at the French Open and his first Wimbledon title last year. Three of his French Open titles and his Wimbledon crown came at the expense of Roger Federer. Nadal’s best finish at the Australian Open was a semi-final appearance last year.
