Jalen Rose Pleads Guilty to Drunk Driving

Former NBA Player Admits to Crime

ESPN TV basketball analyst and former NBA player Jalen Rose pleaded guilty to drunk driving on Wednesday.

According to a report from the Associated Press, Rose told a judge that he was embarassed to admit that he drank 6 martinis on the night that he veered his Cadillac off a snowy road, causing it to roll over.

Rose was arrested on March 11th by an officer who described Rose as having bloodshot eyes and an odor of intoxicants on his breath at the time of the arrest. Jalen told the police that he hadn't been drinking and that he doesn't even drink.

But Rose changed his story in front of Judge Kimberly Small.

When asked by the judge how many drinks he had leading up to the crash, Rose softly replied, "I'm embarrassed to say I had six drinks that evening."

A hospital blood test revealed that Rose's blood-alcohol content was 0.12 on the night of the accident, well above the Michigan's driving limit of 0.08 percent.

Rose now faces up to 93 days in jail, a $500 fine, and court costs. He is scheduled to be sentenced on July 27.
