Effective Faith Based Medical Detoxification

Effective faith based medical detoxification plays a huge role in the recovery process. True and meaningful recovery from drug and alcohol addiction can only happen when one works on spiritual health as well as physical health.

Proverbs 3:5-6 says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Faith-based medical detoxification gets its strength from the truth that through forgiveness and acceptance from the Lord is within reach. The process of medical detoxification is necessary to rid the body of drugs and alcohol, but the background of faith and spirituality only adds to the chances that recovery from addiction will be accomplished.

1 Peter 5:7 says “Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.”

The detoxification process is often frightening and overwhelming, but with the faith and love of the Lord, it is less daunting. Finding strength in Biblical scripture and prayer is a powerful tool in the journey to complete recovery. Medical detoxification is the necessary first step and must be completed before the remainder of the treatment can happen. The support that a faith-based medical detoxification program provides is extremely beneficial not only to the addict, but to every member of their family. Recovery from drug and alcohol addiction will not happen overnight, but with the confidence that walking with the Lord offers, it is a very real possibility.

It has been said many times that Christ is not a part of recovery, He is recovery. If we want to live a new life, a life that is free of addiction and pain, we must remain in Christ.
John 15:5 says: “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
